Federal Entitlements and Grants
Title I: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged, SEC. 1001
This program provides financial assistance through State Educational Agencies (SEAs) to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards.
Title II: Enhancing Education Through Technology
Technology can be used to enhance curricula and engage students in learning. The principal goal of the Enhancing Education Through Technology (Ed Tech) Grants Program is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools.
Title III: Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students, SEC. 3102.
The Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students program assists school districts in teaching English to limited English proficient (LEP) students and in helping these students meet the same challenging state standards required of all students.
Title V: Innovative Programs
The Innovative Programs State Grants assist local education reform efforts that are consistent with and support statewide reform efforts.
